Plummet Depth Finder 7 gram

Plummet - Float Fishing Light Plummet- Find Your Depth!

Plummets - 2 - Pack of Light Plummet 7 Gram (1/4 ounce)

The plummet is a must-have piece of fishing tackle. Finding the depth in front of you and setting your depth for floats is one of the most important setup tasks. Significantly improve your fishing by knowing your depth (without electronics) using a plummet. Pros and amateur fishermen use plummets with floats (don't leave home without 2 or 4...).

To use, simply thread your hook through the eye and then make one loop by threading it a second time through the eye (especially if using a casting float on spinning gear). Then place the hook in the cork on the bottom. Cast out to where you are fishing. You can see if the float sinks that you need to move the float up the line and fish deeper.

** Tip - when using the plummet depth finder, you should remove one shot to make the float setup lighter! It is easier to check depth that way. Replace the shot when you have set your depth.

Once a fisherman finds the depth and sets the float- you can also move the setup around to find drop-offs, weediness and changes in bottom from mud to sand. Plummets used with pole setups are the key to catching tons of fish. When waters are cold or overly hot - fish will sit right on the bottom! To catch them - get the exact depth and simply move your float down towards the hook the height of the fish's face - put it EXACTLY in their line of sight at mouth level and catch so many more fish. Plummets come in a 2-pack because you never want to fish without a plummet.

TIP #2. When fishing rocky bottoms- use caution when plumbing up!! Plummets will get snagged in cracks. If your shore has rip-rap, be sure to cast out past where the rock edge is and slowly come in to save on lost plummets and time.
