This jig is hand-picked for its hot orange fish-catching combination of premium marabou jig hair, flash tinsel and its versatile weight of 1/16 oz. Fish the THILL Premium Marabou Jig alone, tipped with live bait on light lines for an ultralight jigging presentation. The jig is light enough for lines of 4 lb. and 2 lb., keeping the rod tip up, the jig is slowly fished across and above cover. Heavier jigs fall too quickly, create more snags and lose bites. This jig can be fished beneath our floats as a jig-and-float combination.
Great live bait jig presentation – use a small jig, a swivel and a length of leader line tied to this jig head. Keep your bait exactly where you want it from the bottom – change the length of line to match the distance you want the bait to be from the bottom, or above rocks, weeds or other structure. Add a float to your rig and you will be able to fish the exact depths where the fish are at with a few quick adjustments.
THILL Premium Marabou Jig
Great for fishing drop-offs, from shore, drifting in a boat for catching walleyes, perch, trout, bass, big bluegills and crappies. The light construction of this premium marabou jig will allow you to keep it up out of snags and has enough weight to cast. If you need more casting weight, you can always simply add a split shot up the line 20″ from the jig. For fishing greater distances, a stealthy approach is to add a float and shot the float down. You can fish over the top of structure, pausing the jig. Pulling will lift the jig up and then stopping will make the bait fall – a great way to fish a structured drop, weed line or area where fish are suspending. Leave the bait sit in an resting position and allow the marabou to dance and your bait to lure the strike in.
